To plant a garden is to believe in tomorrow ~ Audrey Hepburn
Gardening not only brings pleasure to those who admire it, the joy it brings to the gardener makes gardening such a popular and rewarding pass time. Gardens can be a source of fruit, vegetables and herbs. Even if you have limited space there is always something that you can grow.
Choosing a garden that suits your needs and space
Gardens come in all shapes and sizes, all with different meanings and purposes. Here are some ideas to inspire the gardener in you:
- Flowers and vegetables – whether you choose to grow flowers and shrubs or focus on a vegetable patch so that you can enjoy fresh produce, spending time in the outdoors tending to your garden is relaxing and is an excellent way to de-stress.
- Grow vegetables on your verge – offering the produce to passersby as a source of food and nutrients is guaranteed to make someone’s day.
- Window boxes and pots – for those who don’t have enough space or live in an apartment, all kinds of plants and flowers can be grown in window boxes or pots. The great thing about this option is that you can take them with you when it’s time to move.
- Mix and match - for those with limited space there is the option to plants herbs and vegetables in-between your regular garden. You’ll be amazed at how things grow side-by-side so that you can enjoy the best of both from one patch of earth. Usually, “what tastes good together, grows well together”.
